Edbiz - Assessor Training
Edbiz is a brand of services developed to support educators in New Zealand.
Edbiz believes that education and training provide opportunities to make a positive impact on people’s lives and improve their standard of living.
We are passionate about supporting the people that make it happen.
We have specialised in assessment and moderation so we can do our part by helping educators and assessors to recognise the achievements of their students or trainees.
Edbiz has recently ‘split’ up our original website into two websites to make them easier to find and navigate through to find the information you needed to access our training and services:
Our goal is to support and provide the professional development for people involved with assessment and moderation in the education sector in New Zealand through assessor training courses, moderator training courses, hosting a professional development network and offering our assessment and moderation services directly to education organisations, industry associations or workplaces.

Today, achievement is primarily measured through gaining credits to attribute towards unit & achievement standards that lead to National Certificates.
Edbiz supports management and staff and we believe that this will give staff more time to spend with their students or trainees.
We also believe that the best people to deliver our services are the experienced people who are working in and around our schools, organisations and workplaces.
Edbiz has a network of part time businesses and people who have a desire to pass on their experience and offer their services to support your organisation.
We also has strategic partnerships with existing education support businesses to provide access to their services through Edbiz. Edbiz operates within our clients' NZQA Accreditations for example, when we are providing independent assessment or moderation for a Secondary School or PTE or when we get contracted in to deliver our Assessor Training for a Polytechnic.
We also have formal arrangements to access other NZQA Providers accreditation to offer our services. This varies depending on the service we are offering, and can be clarified at any stage to ensure that you can be clear about how results are being reported to NZQA or where all parties responsibilities lay.
The Edbiz brand is owned by Case Group Limited and was founded by Stephen Strawbridge. Stephen or Stax as he is known, has worked in the education sector since 1997. He has had the opportunity to work in every role there is in a PTE, at all levels from the 'shop floor' through to senior management.
He specialised in the management of assessment design and practice, quality assurance and programme development before moving into strategic development and the management of the multi site PTEs.
As he has progressed through his different roles he has completed professional development and short courses to attain the National Certificate in Adult Education and Training Levels 4 & 5 and believes that ongoing assessment and moderation training done on the job is the best way to gain the skills and knowledge to develop good assessor and moderator practice.
Stax is still working in the education sector offering management services to PTEs and offering services through Edbiz. He is passionate about establishing systems and programmes that educate, train and assess people to meet industry demands and needs.
