Our online assessor training can be described as, directed and supported distance learning using online
resources and on job training with visual aids, charts and handouts to
use as assessment tools and Assessor resources as you develop your
assessor practice.
We understand that distant learning requires more commitment from both the Adult Learner and the Adult Educator so we have included several delivery strategies within our approach.
Your Coach will prepare 1 on 1 learning sessions customised to meet
the Assessor requirements of your NZQA Registered Provider or Industry
Training Organisation.

We will work with you to find and approve

We have a series of online presentations and activities to deliver
the knowledge required to be an Assessor in New Zealand. This is
combined with 1 on 1 coaching sessions over the phone and email to
provide clarification and reinforcement of your learning, extra support
and direction and motivation to complete the course and assessments.
You will apply your knowledge in your workplace to work through the processes.
Course Content
We introduce you to the tertiary education system and key
organisations within it, standards based assessment and how assessment
materials are designed to collect the evidence that you need to make
assessment decisions as an Assessor and content expert.
We provide you with a tried and proven assessment process model to apply your knowledge to and practice with to develop good Assessor Practice.
We explain your organisation requirements, the role as an assessor, their
responsibilities and how it all fits in place to deliver on the aims
(or uphold the integrity) of the National Qualification Framework. we will also
identify the moderation requirements expected of Assessors within your
organisation and help you to achieve those.
We outline the key communication skills required to prepare and
facilitate assessment briefings with your candidiates and assessments in your context, make
assessment decisions and provide feedback to your candidate.
We outline how you will report and complete the administration
requirements for the assessments through your organisation to NZQA for
the candidates.
We provide a tool and process to conduct a self review on your
assessments using information from your candidates, observer, assessor
trainers and your personal reflections to further develop your assessor
practice.
